All Quiet on the Jnet Front

Hey, folks, it's been a tad quiet here of late has it no ?   Jim, has the cat got your tongue or are you all talked out about Levein ?

I've scarcely been on of late, as you'll have noticed from how late I've been putting up the predictor and updating it!

It's been a busy time over the last wee while.  I've had a couple of weeks annual leave since September, and in both weeks, I've had visitors up. (I've never been so popular since I moved here).

My pal and her husband came up in September.  She's a real galavanter but had never been to the Western Isles - or anywhere in Scotland, to be fair - and loved it.  We were really lucky with the weather and had a week of sunshine, which meant loads of walks on the beaches and a wee few Harris gins at night.

Last week my niece and nephew came up for a week, sans parents.  It was magic to spend some quality time with them, where I could spoil them and not have my sister breathing down their necks, spoiling the fun.    They also got a week of wall to wall sunshine.  Thank frig they came up last week as it's been pissing with rain and gales here since the weekend!

What have you lot been up to? (Keep it clean!)

working on my windmill when in England, going to the pub (and taking visitors around) when in Edinburgh. Like you I find people are happy to visit  when there!

Re: All Quiet on the Jnet Front

I've just been hellish busy the last couple of months tbh. Wife had an op on her hand (involving removal of bone and repurposing of tendons) so I've been an absolute SAINT making sure she's been taken care of, then my old dear popped across for a week and I've just seen her back up the road. Plus it's hard to talk about the old JTs when I genuinely cannot be fucked to so much as watch highlights involving them.

I'll certainly try and add a bit more content from now on, though. Not today mind, I'm getting on the ale.

Ian  - that's shocking behaviour!

Anders - do you really have a windmill or are you taking the piss?

IJ - pleased to hear you're taking your husband responsibilities seriously!

Re: All Quiet on the Jnet Front

Sadly hit with a great depression. Not the kind that needs treatment but just a thorough downright can't be asred with myself or life in general. Finished decorating the house and now find the days long and boring. Getting too old to go out shooting in the cold and wet, so not even doing that most Sundays. My cousin was up from down south and stayed with my sister ( thank feck )  had to take my share and took him shooting last Tuesday. Much better day than I was expecting ( he is older than me ( yes I know ! ) ) and so quiet, So much like his dad who was in the subs during the war.
Family birthday ( sister ) so even though it was a decent day didn't get shooting last Sunday and having serious thoughts whether to go this week, or stay home and watch that pile of excrement get arse raped in the cup. Weather will probably decide for me.
Just as well I don't have serious amounts of lethal drugs lying around.......................Oh wait!

It's not mine. I go there to do 'voluntary work' on the industrial heritage sites incl the mill in the photo & a few acres of woodland around it.

That's very interesting.  Is your background in that field ?
