Re: The Craig Levein thread

Yeah, that didn't change my opinion - get him working full time at Oriam, and a new manager and coaching staff in that actually want to win games.

Like I've also said though, ain't gonna happen.

Re: The Craig Levein thread

Levein's ego is such that no matter what, he won't stop at the Oriam. Until he has gone from our club no decent self respecting manager will come. Levein can't keep his nose out and IMHO is the reason Robbie left,. Levein's five year plan had us in the Championship for two seasons and Robbie was left to get on with it, while Levein dealt with other stuff, gaining promotion went against's the plan and Levein started to take too much interest in the first team, interfering with what Robbie was doing.
I just wish I could recount ALL the players we have signed since 2014, well in excess of 114 and still we can't find a decent mid field or striker,
Ok we may not have the pulling power of Celtic ( or in their case money ) or Sevco but surely to feck we have the money and pulling power to expect better than Washington or Wighton. Levein's inability to sign players has shown up time and time again, but you get people quoting Berra and four or five others, enough monkey's with typewriters can publish Shakespeare, so that argument doesn't wash.
He was wasted the last three seasons and still there is no sign of improvement. It's not just results ,it's the lack of skill, drive and ambition.
Said before Budge has saved the club but she is risking here status by sticking by Levein. She claims he will be the first one at her door but that is bollocks. the guy's ego knows no bounds and he won't walk. He has too much power and influence and is destroying the club one game at a time.

Re: The Craig Levein thread

Couple of Qs for you Jim - do you think we'd have had Naismith in the first place if CL wasn't here?
What standard of player do you think we should be getting if you're getting pissed off at having signed an international forward?

Real life isn't the same as playing football manager!

You sound obsessed on here with your dislike of him.  What did you make of yesterday?  He very definitely changed tactics and it worked, and we probably would have won were it not for a mistake from Hickey.

Re: The Craig Levein thread

Ok Forrest , lets start with Naismith, a player at the end of his career who is injury prone. Good player but there are just as good and younger players out there. Oh and I don't and never have player Football manager.
Levein didn't play in our biggest game this century, then he pissed off down south at the worst possible time for the team when he last managed, yet you and others hail him as the great white god. Utter failure in everything he touches as far as I am concerned  ( what trophies has he won?)
Next I will ask you a question, are you happy with the number of players we have signed since 2014? Happy with the money wasted on players who played more on loan than they did for us?
We have signed more than 120 players since 2014, what other team has signed so many?
How many players do we sign to get the three or four decent ones
Levein as a player and manager is supposed to be a defensive genius yet we lost goals like those yesterday.
Yesterday was dire and no change whatsoever from the end of last season. No win against a premiership team in 10 games. Struggling to beat second div part time teams and can't even get out our ( very easy ) group seeded.
Last season's cup run saw us playing the easiest cup run in years yet many are hailing it a success.
Are you happy with humping the ball to Uche? Happy with the keeper? Berra is meant to be the wonder defender but makes stupid mistakes and can't even hump the ball forward.
There are so many things wrong with the megalomaniac in charge I could be here all week.
But will finish for now with the money he has wasted and how much he takes from the club he claims to love.

Re: The Craig Levein thread

TBF IJ It's a site I am rarely on. Read JKB but quickly get fed up with the Levein love in from a few of the posters. Levein was a great player, but his pulling a sicky when he was need most and his pissing off down south at the worst time possible has soured my vision of him. Then he has wormed his way into a position where he is un-sackable and his waste of much needed funds just makes me mad and want him gone from Hearts completely ( not as many want him as DoF) Hearts are a great team but nowhere near big enough to warrant a DoF and no decent manager will work under the egomaniac. So a great team under achieving for the next four or more years is what we have to look forward to, and it also makes me mad that fans are happy with this. Hibs will dominate Edinburgh for years thanks to Levein's signing players of poor quality ( when he claimed at the start ( after promotion ) he would only sign players who were the same or better than the team he pissed off and dismantled.

Re: The Craig Levein thread

Pulling a sicky = Hibs patter. If he had shite running down his legs, he couldn't play football to the level required. If you're telling me the man who lamped Graeme Hogg was actually fine and just cowardly, I don't know what to tell you.
Pissing off down south = valid criticism. Fucked me off no end too.
"Wormed his way" = He was offered a seat on the board of the club he supports. Was he going to say no? Either way, he's no exactly some sleekit Machiavelli.
Waste of funds = valid criticism. We have pished away far too much on shite.

Egomaniac/megalomaniac/Hibs will dominate for years = shut up Jim.

Re: The Craig Levein thread

Ok Hibs may not dominate but can you serious say the guy will step down of his own accord? Do you really think he listens to anyone but himself?

Re: The Craig Levein thread

In the same way that any other manager would, yes. If that's your problem though, it's that wee Budgie isn't giving him enough shite in his ear like a less patient chairperson would - but again not his fault...

Remember I don't want him to be the manager either. But as I've said before, the over the top theatrics about the guy are just weird. I honestly think if we appointed someone like Terry fucking Butcher he'd get an easier ride.
