Neighbours two doors up have chickens. What a racket they make when they're excited. 
Never offered me any eggs but.

Loads of folk have hens here and we quite often get eggs.

I'd say semi-rural. Wee town, big countryside surrounding it. I kind of explain it by telling folk to imagine they live in Elgin.
