Football in the last couple of weeks

First of all, commiserations to HC, though I'm delighted that St Johnstone won / Hibs didn't   A funny coincidence that Rooney's winning goals in both cup finals came in the 32nd minute.

Europa League final: didn't watch it, but was keeping half an eye of the score.  Wow, what a penalty shoot out!  If we'd been able to take penalties as well as that, we'd have beaten Celtic in December!

"Champion's" League final: Didn't watch it - couldn't give a toss about 2 English clubs playing each other.  Snorefest.

International friendly last night: Didn't watch that one either!  Good result.  CG didn't have much of a chance at the goals, and made one very good save. Hope he keeps his place.

Hibs weren't in the running.  St Johnstone  outplayed us in every area and looked so much more like they wanted to win than Hibs did.

Thank goodness for Covid restrictions, otherwise I would have wasted hundreds of pounds going to the game!

Re: Football in the last couple of weeks

Europa was funny and great to see a small club win it.

CL...yawn.

Scottish Cup...didn't get to watch, were there teams playing we were supposed to care about?

Euros...I still won't understand folks being able to support players they spit venom at every other season of the year.  I'll probably catch a match here or there, and would be nice to see Scotland advance, but my distaste for FIFA and UEFA will keep me from giving much of a toss.  CLUB BEFORE COUNTRY!

Hearts promotion seemed rather anti-climactic.  Not much competition since well before the holidays.  Shame, usually promotions are a fun celebration, but obviously severely muted by no crowds.

Still giddy over Leeds' return to the Prem and a top-half finish.  Now the real work begins to stay there.

Looking forward to being back at Philly Union matches soon.  Could've been there this season already, but schedule and lack of jabs wouldn't allow.

I should have mentioned the relegation play-off too.  Shame for Killie, I don't really have anything against them, and have many fond memories from going to see us play there, including kicking off the 05-06 campaign there.

Kilmarnock the town though?  No sympathy.  The number of Rangers buses you see leaving there is disgusting.

Glad to see Hamilton finally go down too - nasty wee club.  Got to say that Ross Calachan had a decent season though, so fair play to him.
