Perhaps the reason Tory MPs want restrictions lifted is because they're more interested in them and their friends making money than they are in public health.
Delighted to hear about your mum recovering from the virus - there's inherant randomness in most diseases, and they will affect different people in different ways. But if you don't think the virus exists, how do you explain the large number of deaths in care homes?
You're right in one respect though - the fear spread during the initial lockdown was probably over the top and potentially did more harm than good by frightening people away from getting medical attention when they needed it.
The biggest irony is that if the government had done the sensible thing 14 months ago (closed the borders / enforced quarantine), it would have been the same people complaining about that restriction to civil liberties who are complaining now.

Jim - stop repeating yourself - we know your views and you know everyone else's. You have said umpteen times that you don't suffer fools gladly. No-one does; you are no exception. However, most folk leave things alone when it's clear that a rift is being caused because of their stubbornness.
Anders, has in my view, been very magnanimous in saying that he won't post on Covid matters. He holds his views as dearly as you hold yours. Why don't show a wee bit humility and do the same? Afterall, we're not going to agree on Covid matters.
Forrest, stop tying to convince Jim otherwise - you're on a losing battle.

JIm, sort yourself out and either value the friendship you have on here or continue to cause divisions and bad feeling.
