Oh Jim I thought we were leaving it? I really don't think more videos of what someone else thinks - someone else's interpretation of things - is going to help. Let it go Jim, eh?
FFS did you even watch it?
Haven't we been round this already?
Jim who is he? What do you know about him?
Why believe complete strangers, and ignore the views of people eg on here who you've known for years and who you know to be reasonably intelligent people.
DID YOU WATCH IT? I am not asking you or myself for that matter to believe the guy doing the report. What I am saying is watch the video and the clips he puts up and you will see the points I have been making are TRUE and not a conspiracy.
Not every different point of view has to be a conspiracy. If you want to believe the MSM then fine, stick your head in the sand, or maybe if you woke up and did a little research you just MIGHT find something interesting.

It's two and a half hours long! No, sorry I have other things to do than watch for 2.5 hours.
I did skim it though. And my own view was that there was a lot of 'interpreting what some facts might mean'. But not the only interpretation that could be drawn from the same facts.

Anders, it's 24 minutes long. This was put up for the benefit of the whole forum not just you. If you are too busy at work to look out for your own future then you are the type that are targeting. Head in the sand until it's too late.
Personally I will check out many points of view and make up my own mind from there, not just one side and refuse to watch because of a perceived right wing agenda.
I am interested in those who have watched the video and if they have maybe had a change of mind or are now thinking of checking out more information on the subject.

Then I've linked to the wrong thing. In looking at and into what you put up I got onto another of Florian's videos, a two and a half hour one.
But fair enough you're sending it to the whole forum not me.

But you're not, though, Jim; that is, open to other opinions.
You made up your mind a long time ago and your opinion hasn't changed since March.
You said you wouldn't post on the Cornonavirus thread that Ian started, but you have done your damndest to try and post your opinions on other remotely related threads.
Anders has been nothing but polite but you have been dogmatic and downright rude at times.

You know what I couldn't give a fuck.

Just for you, Jim, I watched it (whilst doing other stuff). It's clear the guy is a blinkered climate-change denier and was just ranting about the supposed WEF video that has disappeared. It may well have been deleted from somebody's tweet (I'm not a big Twitter user, so can't comment), but it's freely available on the WEF website (which literally took me about 5 seconds to find by Googling "WEF 2030 predictions"); here's the link if you want to go in and read exactly what it is that your videos are talking about:
He also clearly misunderstands that these are predictions and not "this will happen". They are eight thought-pieces which (presumably) educated people have written imagining how life may change in 15-ish years time (as it was back in 2016). Someone has taken a couple of soundbites from each piece as headline-grabbers, which has obviously worked as it's sparked reaction like that. Here's the one that the "you won't own anything" one comes from:
I go back to a statement I made much earlier in this thread: all of the 8 pieces are worthy of discussion and should not be rejected out of hand because of misrepresentation by people with paranoia.
Edit: I meant to add that personally, I don't think that vision will happen any time soon. IMO, morely likely is a universal basic income as more jobs are lost due to redundancy due to technological advances. The outcome though is happier people, as we have increased leisure time.

Luxury communism, Tovarich.

Universal Basic Income would be a real enabler for people imho. The security would allow some to be idle sure, but for many the security would free them to follow their dreams - I'd expect an outburst of new start-up businesses, new ventures, and happier people. And lower stress for those who want that.

If you want UBI, vote SNP.
