I get Xmas eve & day, plus Hogmanay and NYD off which for the US is basically tantamount to communism, so I'm counting my blessings

No lockdown there? So you can go and do whatever you feel safe with?

I get the public holidays, so Christmas day, Boxing day, New Year and the 2nd. However, the Cooncil up here (my employer) have a pretty good system in place whereby they take 5 mins off your flexi every day, so that if, for example you work 8 hours, the system shows 7hrs 55mins, which is done so that everyone gets the full week between Chritsmas and New year.
I still had over a week of AL to take, so took that, and because I don't work Monday, I still had some pro-rata public holiday time to take, which accounts for the three days next week.
Three weeks of doing what I want and not having any contact with my incompetent, bullying boss. Bliss.

I meant more, that, given our geographical position, it's a lot easier to go out and about without there being hoards of folk. I can take the dog out for a long walk and not come across a soul.
Up until yesterday, all of the islands were in level 1, which means very few restrictions. However, I've been very cautious in what I've been doing. I haven't been out for a meal, coffee or anything like that.
I do a weekly shop, early in the morning when it's quiet and when half of Stornoway haven't had their paws over all the groceries.
Probably the riskiest thing I've done was getting my hair cut a couple of weeks ago. I must admit, I kind of baulked a bit when I saw how busy the place was.

I was asking IJ!
But ken whit ye mean about scary haircuts etc. Ma wee wifie is on the Extremely Vulnerable list so we don't go anywhere really, but did have haircuts a couple of weeks ago. When you look at peoples' actions through 'vulnerable' eyes you can see that so many just don't realise that they need to change their own habits, it looks like so many's understanding is that other people need to keep away from them. Bit like climate change really, all being for someone else to sort out.

Oops - sorry!
Felt totally disheartened yesterday. Went to do my weekly shop and the supermarket was empty. Totally desecrated, and it wasn't just empty of Christmas products. No fruit or veg and no big roll.
I think folk are panic buying in anticipation of another full scale lockdown post Christmas and are also concerned about the shite that's about to hit the fan due to lack of a Brexit deal.
Feeling quite scunnered with human nature to be honest.
