Re: The Official Jnet Guid Hings Thread

Wasn't sure if I should put this in the coronavirus thread or here. I see big Donny isn't feeling too well.

I wonder if he will now show a wee bit more humility.

He won't. What's *really* pissing me the fuck off however is the talking heads over here scolding folk who've suffered the last four years for being anything other than devastated he's in hospital. It's almost as if they rely on his bullshit to make their money.

When Thatcher died, I got told off for criticising her.    All this nonsense about not talking disrespecfuly of the dead.

It's been great weather here for about 5 or 6 days, freezing cold but bright,  the days are longer and I'm still on holiday.  Magic.

Re: The Official Jnet Guid Hings Thread

It is. Though on the face of it it's just 'hobby work', beyond the windmill itself there's a few acres of woodland & ponds & heathland and an old Robert Stephenson inclined plane that we maintain too, which get used for recreation and education so there's a mental health benefit for people in the area. Plus amongst the half-dozen or so of us who maintain it, a couple are on their own so it eases their social isolation if we keep going.

That's great, Anders.  Heritage, coupled with nature and the benefits it brings,  is a real plus for both those improving it and those to whom those improvements benefit. 😊
