She decided to eat the remains of a dead seagull on the beach today; two wings and part of the body.
That was after Mr HC saw her eating something 'slimey looking', potentially with a tail, this morning in the garden.
She's since vommed - a few feathers and parts of the body, but she's gutted to hear that the vet said she isn't allowed any food or water until 9 o'clock tonight.
How can someone so cute be so mingin' ? 🐕🐶

Dogs are amazing and she probably had a felling something was wrong. Knew she was eating something that would make her throw up and clear out the problem. That's why they eat grass too.
Ps I would not have wasted the money taking her to the vet and done just what they suggest. Stop her eating ( I would have allowed her a drink but in small doses ) and waited until the next day.

She ate it because she's a Lab and basically Labs will eat anything. They're renowned for being greedy dogs. It's not the first time she's eaten a seagull.
As for grass, she eats that every day - again, she just wants to eat.
Most dogs only eat grass if they have an upset stomach and to induce vomiting, some, like mine, just like eating it. (One of the vets has 3 Labs and they do nothing but eat grass on their walks or in the garden).
I didn't 'waste' money taking her to the vet; I phoned up the on-call vet and he gave advice over the phone. He also asked me to phone him back if she was sick and to call him today to let him know how she was. We're really fortunate to have excellent vets here.
And yes, you're right; dogs are amazing. 🐶😊

Any further forward on what the slimy thing with the tail was? I genuinely can't think of anything, unless she caught a reptile, but they're not really slimy.

How big was it IJ? Looks a bit like a ferret but hard to tell with a close up pic.
