Re: Hibs/Hearts Select

Once he'd changed position from wing and became an international in his new role, after he escaped from hibs, you'd have had him back in midfield surely? Became an unusual blend of a creative touch player who performed for the full 90 minutes. You're prob judging him as a winger where he was excluded from the areas where he did his best stuff.

Re: Hibs/Hearts Select

I'm judging him on being average for us.  He had pace but blew hot and cold.

I accept he was much better for you guys.

Also, think a captain should ideally be a defender.

And I think they should speak proper English, so that rules out every member of the back 4.

Right you, choose between your midfield hammer thrower and drunken rally driver so we can move onto strikers.

Re: Hibs/Hearts Select

Oh dilemma, cos they'd need to be better than Rudi. And Colin Cameron, and Magic Johnston.

Re: Hibs/Hearts Select

Rudi is already in left mid, that's no even being debated here surely!

Re: Hibs/Hearts Select

17, 13, and 18 goals in a season from midfield. Kept scoring even once the opposition all knew he was the danger. Accurate left foot. And that rare thing even for front-line strikers, didn't just thump it but could be calm and pick a spot given a sight of goal. It can be discussed as much as anyone wants but he's still in the side.😉

Re: Hibs/Hearts Select

So where are we with this ?  Boyle, Latapy, Brown and Hartley in midfield ?

Re: Hibs/Hearts Select

Going for a 5-man midfield?

That leaves just John Robertson up front then.
