I really enjoy the back garden nature I get here. Back in Embra you sit out back, and what do you get? Maybe a half deid crow or a dozen seagulls screeching. Sat on the deck today and I saw cardinals, blue jays and fed some squirrels, whilst a couple of the neighbourhood cats came and hung out in the sun too. It's good for the soul, that.

You're so right; it IS good for the soul.  So are things like mountains, lochs and other guid hings pertaining to nature.

If I'm ever feeling a bit fed up, I just go for a wee stroll and feel automatically lifted.

They are - I like a nice bit of beef.  The problem is,  I can't be pals with a cow and then eat it.    It's fine if it's a cow I don't know.

I live in an area called Lochs, so there's not much chance of that!

Re: The Official Jnet Guid Hings Thread

Friend of mine. He's got a garage (a business, I'm not meaning a place next to his house to store a few tins of used paint and a sunlounger) where he's honest & cheap which isn't something you feel about every garage. Had a prob with my car, it's needed cos Mrs anders is on the Extremely Vulnerable List and I need it to get her to blood tests etc, I've got other 'essential'journeys to make in it. Tho my friend's garage is shut during the lockdown, and he doesn't know about my essential journeys, he opened up specially & he his son just got stuck in, made it safe until they can fix it properly. Then knowing him it'll be 6 months before I pay anything and even then cos I nag to. Guid guy.

Re: The Official Jnet Guid Hings Thread

My auld (96 year auld!) gran was taken ill earlier this week. Cause she's in the sticks this meant 20 minutes in an ambulance to Elgin, then another hour to Aberdeen where she was given a pacemaker and is already back at home eating Mr Kiplings and complaining about the weather. The NHS is rightly being praised right now, and I just want to add to it. An utterly wonderful institution that you'd only fully appreciate if you realised the above - with full insurance - would have cost upwards of $50,000 over here. It's fucking great - don't lose it. x

Glad she's ok.
I'm hoping even the current bullish flavour of Tory Party will realise they can't water it down to save money for a few years.

Aw, I'm so pleased for your wee granny - that's magic news.

After all this shit has died down, every single one of us need to be questioning the politicians and their commitment to this 'resource'.

We need to to question the Tories and why they have refused pay rises year on year, why they have failed to provided nurses and doctors with PPE etc.

In fact, we need to start that NOW!

So chuffed for your granny !!!!!
