Jim nobody is deliberately pulling apart everything you say, but people are looking for facts. E.g. it's not proven that the bat/pangolin theory is rubbish, that's just opinion. Yes people claim that a bunch of circumstantial evidence is 'proof' but it just isn't. Facts, tested and agreed by other experts, is proof but I'm afraid the word of just one or two, even if they're experts, isn't proof if enough other equally qualified people can't test that theory and the 'evidence' and find that it's true. That's just how it works. So dismissing world experts, and us, because we haven't yet bought into your favourite theories doesn't make them all wrong/misled/wilfully difficult. It just makes them wanting more evidence than a few people's say-so.

Some Doctors Jim believe in euthenasia. They're doctors so they must be right? No, they're just out on a limb. The same happens with scientists and every other profession - they're people...you get sensible ones, nutty ones, excitable ones, ones who don't go through the full evidential testing and peer-review cycles before they make their statements. The peer review is pretty key in getting to identifiable facts rather than opinion. No-ones shooting you down, so they don't deserve to be called eg sheep, they're just looking for evidence before they'll believe something.

It was definitely a pangolin's bum though.
