I'm genuinely gutted that Scotland will leave the European Union at 11pm tonight.
And I'm even more gutted that it's another country that's taken us out.

A victory for old people, and younger people with old attitudes.
When people get older they struggle to fully keep pace with the modern world and hanker after the world they were more comfortable in - when they were younger, it all seemed simpler, etc etc - rose-tinted specs playing some part in it. I've no problem with that, it's just how people are and people of every age deserve to be considered and not be disrespected. This is a travesty tho. Ah ken I'm old too but my attitudes, unless I'm living in a fantasy, aren't. And taking the whole of the UK out of the EU is just....well if you look up wars and other aggressive conflict between EU countries since it's inception you find it's none (apart from the UK: the Troubles). If you look up the conflicts preceding the EU it's a long read. For that reason alone it was in everyone's interests to hang on to it.

Maybe watch these and see if you think differently:
The EU was a massive waste of money and the UK was one of only a very few who paid in more than they gained.
The whole system will now collapse when France and Germany see how much more they have to put in to keep the gravy train running.
Buildings and wages for the few ( if you do watch ,look out for the shopping mall only THEY can use ) are but a small part, they wanted one government running the whole of Europe, BUT they didn't want YOU picking who runs it. Too many faceless un-elected wage thieves. Love him or hate him listen to Farrage ( sp ) when he talks about how and who makes the laws.
On a side point, they have so many rules for everyday items and when it comes to the building trade we are the only arseholes who bid by the rules. Hard hat , reflective vets and steel toe cap boots, safety scaffold and harnesses to work one floor up. On holiday in Portugal and on a building site workers wore shorts and flip flops while YOU pay more for every worker to be kitted out. All for health and safety but it costs us millions more to build anything.
Personally believe IF we put every penny we pay into the EU into our own infrastructure the UK will be a far better place. The problem is will the Westminster government plough all the wealth into the south.

Don't start this again Jim.
We've been through it. And claiming Nigel Farage as a source of honest balanced information is probably not a credible tactic.

Never said Farage was a source of balanced information, however what he says is true and can't be denied. So what is the point of having all that parliament if they can't do anything.
I for one am glad we are out and I am convinced there will be others ( and soon ). It's all down to how the government use the cash we used send them.
If and I am sure we will be fine, I will come back and see what you all think then.
As for an Indy Scotland I hope the good times come before that clown tries to take us back in. Just gutted Sammon left things to her as I would have preferred him to be running things. A great orator and could put down all the muppets on the opposition benches.

Jim, Scotland voted 65/35 to remain within the EU, so, if we ever get back in, it will be down to the will of the people, not a whim on Sturgeon's part.
With regards her leading the party, she is generally accepted as being one of the best debaters in UK politics. Do you ever listen to FM's questions on a Thursday?

What a bunch of people in Scotland need to realise is that there's a massive body of people who vote for the SNP because they want independence.
The SNP could shit on my nose and I'll still vote for them until Scotland is independent.
Salmond is a creep. Mackay is a creep. Their policies are centrist pish. STILL GOING TO VOTE FOR THEM, FROM AMERICA, BECAUSE I WANT SCOTLAND TO BE INDEPENDENT.
Love yous though

Likewise IJ there are many who vote indy but don't want the EU. I think once things are sorted many will see the folly of the EU and would vote to stay out. That is why I suggest that instead of Sturgeon just using the indy vote as a mandate for the EU, she should hold a referendum once Indy has been won.
I think once things pan out other countries ( the people not those who run them ) will want out too. France and Germany can't afford to run the whole show on their own and would need to massively increase their donations.
Too many leaches and too much waste for it to be sustainable. The original idea of a common market was fine, however the EU as is can't continue.
