I was absolutely gutted when I heard the news! One of the best debaters and orators we've had the privilege to witness in this country. We'll never see his likes again.
In answer to your question, I'm not sure. Half of the SNP are MI5 plants, the other half are careerist spivs!

Back in the late 1980s I stood for the SNP in the Aberdeen District Council elections. I met Alex Salmond and we discussed all things Hearts for which I received a reprimand from his minders. A great man. He had his faults but haven't we all?
