Andy Irving

Signs for West Ham United.

Another youngster that we let slip through our fingers. Levein and Neilson ruined that boy.

Re: Andy Irving

He'll have every single bit the career Joe Hamill did

Me too.  A lovelier lad, you couldn't meet.

Re: Andy Irving

Anyway, turns out it's just a fudge to beat the financial fair play rules. He'll never play a minute for West Ham. Modern football baby!

How so?  I genuinely don't know how it works?  I'm not sure anything in top-level football is financial fair play nowadays, but how does signing another player help that?

Re: Andy Irving

Basically as I understand it West Ham want Klagenfurt as a feeder team, but rules state a club can't just blast cash at another (otherwise our pals in Saudi Arabia would be bouncing about like giddy dugs). So Irving "signs" for West Ham for a million blabs, then spends the rest of the contract on loan in Austria. Problem solved!
