Joel Pereira

Played for Huddersfield in their pumping from Norwich last night.
Has played 2 games for them and has shipped 11 goals.

Arguably the worst keeper I’ve ever seen in a Hearts top. I include Kurskis and Nelson in that.

Re: Joel Pereira

Metoo. Good distribution, but stopping shots? Taking high crosses commanding the area and giving confidence to his defence were also not strong points.

His shot stopping was atrocious. Any shot on target had a very high chance of ending up in the net due to him effectively being a hologram.

Re: Joel Pereira

There were many reasons for us being in 12th position when the season stopped last year, but he was by far the biggest / most costly one.

I've just seen teh highlights from this - I genuinely only thought he was at fault for one of them.Β  Still blame him for last season though.

Re: Joel Pereira

If we took it down to individual games and individual moments, there were a few times we didn't get points because of his errors. There were also a couple of games in succession late on where one player missed sitters, both of which cost us points. You could say we weren't at the bottom because of those moments but because of the season as a whole, and that fitba's a team game, the season is a marathon not a sprint and other trite wee statements. But they're not true - success & failure depends on both, the overall thing plus the individual incidents, mess up either and you stand to be where we were. With a couple of players who could have done better at those times...and a load of others who could have done better at other times too.
Joel Pereira - he was special tho.
