Those little things you take for granted.

What has the lockdown made you realise that you take for granted? Not friends or family as that’s a given.

For me it’s a simple thing like sitting and having a pint on a Saturday afternoon while I’m doing my football bets.

For me it includes a group of sport-playing pals that can be pretty tedious but I've found I'm missing their Friday night arguments, woeful sense of humour, limited conversation, nut-case ideas, and wonderful Indian food.

Mind you, it might only be the food. 😉

Going out for lunch/dinner or coffee and a cake.

Taking a ferry across to the mainland for a few days away.

Spending time with friends.

Going to the Coop or Tesco to do the weekly shop.

I’m definitely missing my Saturday afternoon with Jeff Stelling.

Sportsound on Radio Scotland for me.

Good thing is that On and Off the Ball with Tam Cowan and Stuart Cosgrove is still on.

Missing going shooting with Babs, drive down the borders an hour or so shooting , stopping for lunch in Earlston and the drive back.
Anyone who travels the borders should visit Rymers towers cafe ( next to the co op ) great food and cheap.

Missing getting off the island.

I absolutely love living here, but you need to get off the island every now and then.

Apart from a few hours for a hospital appointment in the slums last March just before lockdown, it's been 16 months since I 've been to the mainland..

Me and Mr HC really enjoy travelling around Scotland, and I must say, I'm really missing a change of scene just now.

Probably exacerbated by the fact that I've been working from home since lockdown.

On the positive side,  I am so blessed with what I have here.

This is where I went today with my other half and my black hairy baby for my exercise.
