Are we having a manager and subbies?
I've been eating a fair bit of ice cream of late. Whatever I can get from my local shop. (not been using the supermarket).
Currently have Wall's vanilla soft scoop. Not the best but beggars can't be choosers.

When I'm in Edinburgh Luca's is 5 mins from the flat and I walk past it just about every day. When I say I walk past it I go in kind of often. And Mr Boni's was just down the road.
Best ice cream I've ever had was in Rome - thought I'd found the best of the lot when I tried the one that nuns queued up outside and tbf they were great judges. Then I found a place near their parliament that was full of politicians and that was even better - I hadn't thought 'better' was possible. And there must be a thing about mono-varietal queues because when I found a place in Boskoop in the Netherlands that the local firemen were lining up outside it was pretty remarkable too. I can recommend 'kaneel' ice cream.
(It's Dutch for cinnamon).

Awwwww man, real Italian ice cream is buonissimo! I was there for a year and had my fair share of it!
The first time I went in to a gelateria, my pals and the boy behind the counter looked at me like I was a nutter because I only asked for one flavour! Apparently no-one does that!
The choice of flavours is amazing! I used to count them, (I'm quite sad that way), and the fewest I came across was 14!
I also like the fact that they don't use a scoop, just a spatula and they whap it on!!
Some of my favourites were hazelnut, coconut, melon and trifle - which in Italian is 'zuppa inglese' (English soup)!
I fancy trying cinnamon- love that!
IJ, you're right about their driving skills and it gets worse the further south you go!
I'd kill to be sat in Italy eating an ice cream just now. Although to be fair, the views from my house are just as beautiful, but the ice cream is a bit of a dissa.

There's a place we went for a few holidays in called Aubel. The ice cream maker has a wee shop in the village/small-town square and only ever has 2 flavours - the remnants of yesterday's and whichever fruit the market stalls outside his shop are selling today. So as you get near it you can guess what the sign in the window will say - what you had yesterday and one other thing that's equally full of fresh fruit. The Italian stuff was better ice cream but the chunks of local peach or plum or strawberry or whatever was good enough to get you back every day.
