Two serious questions that the west need to insist on answers from China.
1 ) Was the virus made in the lab if so how did it get out?
2 ) If as stated this virus came from a wet market, ( as did sars and bird flu ) when are you going to close all the wet markets?
And additional question could be, what compensation is China going to give the rest of the world for inflicting this on us?
Why the west is not clamoring for China to do something is a mystery Scooby Doo couldn't solve.

A problem Jim is that there's no evidence it came from a lab, might have been from elsewhere as you say. And if from elsewhere then diseases have often come to humans from animals, it's not possible to close all human/animal contacts - many people eat the things! And to end wet markets, I've been in Chinese markets of the type, I don't know that they differ from a stock sale in any other country or a market with butchers' stalls selling rabbits or fish stalls selling fish. Plus Covid isn't a new disease and flu-like diseases mutate frequently with or without animals & wet markets. So the propspect of it having been 'made' isn't a given.
Compensation - I'm sure it'll get discussed. Then someone will ask about compensation for 'Spanish Flu', others will ask about compensation for a variety of illness that first showed up in another country (which doesn't make that country definitely responsible for a virus having naturally mutated somewhere) and people will then see that there's no sensible end point to the discussion - no rules that could be put in place that wouldn't leave every country, including ours, a hostage to fortune over where someone else thinks an illness first showed itself.
If evidence for a deliberate act by China that produced the virus was ever to be turned up and agreed on by everyone, then there'd be a case for compensation.
But the fact the world will hope for the Chinese production capacity to help it in the recovery from the economic depression heading along will make it pretty hard to be too punitive.

Babs has High blood pressure and diabetes so we are staying in as much as possible. However I have to still go out to shop and every time I come home it's a worry.

She was in her sixties/seventies and yes she had health problems prior to the outbreak.
The wife is doing as well as can be expected.
